Saudi Trademark Registration Fee Calculator

Estimate the trademark registration fees in Saudi Arabia by mark type and number of classes, plus renewal, opposition, assignment and other procedures, based on the official fee schedule of the Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property (SAIP). Foreign brand owners can also estimate the WIPO fees for designating Saudi Arabia in an international application under the Madrid System.

How Are Saudi Trademark Fees Calculated?

A trademark application goes through three paid stages:

  • Examination: paid on filing; SAIP’s stated examination time is 90 days.
  • Publication: paid after acceptance; the mark is published for 60 days for oppositions.
  • Registration and certificate: payable within 30 days of the final invoice, or the application is deemed abandoned.

Every fee applies per class, so choosing the right classes directly affects the cost. Use our Nice Class Finder to identify your classes, or see our trademark registration service in Saudi Arabia.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does it cost to register a trademark in Saudi Arabia?

The government fees for a standard trademark are SAR 6,500 per class: SAR 1,000 for examination, SAR 500 for publication and SAR 5,000 for registration and the certificate, giving ten years of protection.

Are the fees charged per class?

Yes. The fee schedule in the implementing regulations of the GCC Trademark Law lists each fee “for one mark in one class”, so protecting a mark in three classes triples the fees.

Do the results include professional fees or VAT?

No. The calculator shows government fees only, as published by SAIP. Professional fees are separate, and VAT is not added because its application to SAIP fees has not been officially confirmed.

What does it cost to designate Saudi Arabia through the Madrid System?

Under WIPO Information Notice 37/2026, Saudi Arabia’s individual fee is CHF 1,397 per class (CHF 1,719 for collective or certification marks), in addition to WIPO’s basic fee of CHF 653, or CHF 903 for a mark in color.
